Galliford Try submits plan for Leeds 350-flat towers

Galliford Try has submitted plans for 350 build-to-rent flats in two linked tower buildings in Leeds city centre.

Galliford Try’s investment arm has teamed up with the development division of Chinese modular building giant CIMC to develop Flax Place in Leeds.

CIMC recently liquidated its modular business CIMC MBS, which owed cash to several suppliers, but is now seeking to deliver schemes through a development arm.

Galliford Try and CIMC previously worked together on a £75m student accommodation scheme for Newcastle University completed last year.

The latest Leeds build to rent scheme covers two tower buildings of 15 and 11 storeys, which will be connected at lower ground floor level with a shared amenity space facing onto Richmond Street.
